Black Morels – grown on a bed of charred ash and wood chips, they can take 18 to 24 months to colonize. It is widely regarded as a choice edible for food. Not for a beginner, takes gardening and mushroom cultivation skills. The Black “Fire” Morel is one of very few species of Morels that does not rely heavily on a symbiotic relationship with a deciduous tree.
