Blue Oyster Mushrooms tend to prefer colder temps, they fruit on the early and late ends of mushroom season. They have a bold woodsy flavor like the black oysters.
Oysters are know to colonize faster than shiitakes and produce when the weather changes.
Logs produce mushrooms April through November and only need watering when it has not rained 10 to 14 days.
Place logs in the shade outside, they are Zone 2 Hardy Perennial and no care is needed in the winter.
